Tenterden & District Museum

Station Road, TN30 6HN

enquiries@tenterdenmuseum.co.uk

Our fully accredited museum is a treasure trove of local history, housed within a traditional weatherboarded building. Here, you can discover more about the town and its surroundings, from Roman settlers and ship building at Small Hythe to the town’s Georgian theatre and Victorian daily life. The Museum showcases this area’s agricultural heritage and architectural history and is home to the Tenterden Motorcycle Club collection. There are special exhibitions and events, including living history demonstrations, throughout the year and plenty for children and families, with games, puzzles and a super ‘Mouse Trail’. A fantastic gift and book shop sells local crafts and a wide range of history and fiction titles by local authors.

Accessibility  The ground floor is step-free and we have a user-operated, single person stair lift to the first floor. All rooms and exhibitions are visible through our interactive screens located on both floors. We also have an induction loop and audio guide. Assistance dogs are welcome. There is a car park outside the Museum (charges apply 7am-6pm) and two blue badge spaces are available opposite the Museum entrance. See the Accessible website for further information.

See our website, book a guided tour or just pop along for a visit – we look forward to welcoming you.

Open every day between April and December  Monday to Saturday 10:00am – 4:00pm  Sundays 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Admissions: £3 per adult; children, students, members and other concessions - free
